The highly anticipated Start Right 2023 Youth Conference, a collaborative effort by MYO Global and YFM, unfolded on August 2nd, 2023, at Accra Technical University. The focal intention behind the conference was to edify and galvanize the youth, illuminating them about the myriad investment prospects in 2023 while also delving into the tangible experiences and associated challenges within the spheres of entrepreneurship and investment. Esteemed figures spanning diverse industries graced the event to share their sagacity. Notable personalities included the illustrious entrepreneur and actor John Dumelo, the Chief Investment Officer of MIIF, Bubune Sorkpor, accomplished Insurance and Investment Specialist Felix Della Horsu, and distinguished Blogger Kobby Kyei.
In his inaugural discourse, Professor Douglas Boateng, the visionary behind MYO Global, underscored the organization’s unwavering commitment to nurturing the African youth. He accentuated the significance of collective endeavor and urged the youth to cultivate patriotism and unity in sculpting a promising future for Ghana.
The keynote address was delivered by Hon. Pius Hadzide, CEO of the National Youth Authority, who commended the initiative and underscored the pivotal role young individuals play in national advancement. He urged them to explore opportunities within the informal sector, including agriculture, vocational skills, and entrepreneurship. He also underscored the government’s dedication to supporting the youth through initiatives like YouStart.
During the riveting panel discussion, the speakers imparted invaluable insights from their journeys. Blogger Kobby Kyei accentuated the import of addressing societal concerns and standing out by delivering substantive content. John Dumelo, who seamlessly transitioned from the creative realm to agriculture and politics, emphasized the virtues of patience and unwavering commitment when venturing into novel avenues.
Bubune Sorkpor divulged three pivotal elements that underpin sound investment decisions: desirability, viability, and feasibility. He also spotlighted the significance of investing in individuals and fostering collaborations to propel success.
Felix Della Horsu illuminated the concept of discerning secure investments, while also acknowledging the inherent risks intrinsic to all investments. He advised the participants present to do meticulous research and careful consideration of personal inclinations and strengths when making investment choices.
In the conclusive remarks, Mr. Felix Dela Horsu exhorted the youth to manage their time judiciously, highlighting that each moment is an opportunity for personal and collective investment in the future.
